Abstract Introduction Medical record keeping is a fundamental part of the GMC’s Good Practice [1,2]. Surgeons must ensure accurate, comprehensive, and legible records are maintained [3]. An operation note essential to continuity care between operating team other colleagues provides medicolegal patient’s [4]. Handover errors have been implicated in as many 80% sentinel events [5], highlighting importance ensuring accurate keeping. Method We aimed assess compliance surgical notes against Royal College guidance identified areas for improvement. 48 were reviewed at district general hospital west midlands over two weeks. Operation on standard intranet proforma custom compared determine better compliance. Results most vs least Most compliant outcomes listed below: Conclusions was noted. Using resulted higher than (84% 53% respectively).
